Confiança makes an effort to reduce its carbon foot print.
In 2008 we renovated our trucks to have a cleaner
and much more fuel efficient engine and equipped them with the latest Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which
is a device that physically captures diesel particulates preventing their discharge from the truck’s tailpipe.
The collected particulates are removed from the filter periodically by oxidation in a process called
"regeneration".
The air pollution problems grow exponentially when large vehicles are left idling.
Confiança Moving not only took the radical step of renewing its fleet, but also installed battery-powered
lift gates on all of our trucks so that the vehicles could be turned off while the lift gates are still in use.
This alleviates any need to leave vehicles idling.
We have also incorporated green features into all our facilities such as skylights, extra windows in the
warehouses and offices to provide natural light sources, eliminating unnecessary electrical use.
Even the warehouse has been well insulated to reduce the need for air conditioning and heating.
All of our moving boxes are made of 100% recycled materials and we encourage our customers to recycle
the moving boxes that are just too worn out to be used again. We recycle those boxes so they can reincarnate
as a beautiful new Confiança Moving box rather than ending up in a landfill.
Confiança has joined forces with the "PROJETO DECOLANDO - Bons Ventos para o Futuro"
(www.projetodecolando.org) in the Northern Amazon Region of Brazil.
The project aims to promote education by providing the opportunity of a better future for disadvantaged
children and contributing to the enhancement of quality in public education. The project also supports
and provides help to institutions for the disabled, local hospitals, native tribes and communities and
villages in need.
